Travelling over Christmas? Especially for those of us who live in remote areas (hello beautiful Broome!), we often need to travel long distances to visit family and friends over Christmas. This can mean a 3 day drive, or 2-3 flights lugging suitcases, bags and kids!
All of this takes a toll on our spine - our first few weeks back at Cable Beach Chiropractic in Broome are always testament to this, with so many people (including us!) needing help after holiday travel. Long periods sitting, carrying heavy bags, sleeping in different beds, and using different pillows all affects our spine. Never mind the once-a-year backyard cricket!

The good news is, it's EASY to help your spine thrive through the holiday season, and get back to Broome in decent nick. Here’s our top spine-loving tips to maintain your health!
1. Take breaks when driving long periods. Stop every few hours, have a 5 minute walk and stretch out your body.
2. Stretching! Long car rides, different beds and pillows, or plane travel all stiffen up our spines. Download our Handy Stretch Guide from the Shop section of our website - enter the promo code JOINTHECLUB to get it for free!
3. Hydrate hydrate hydrate. It’s all too easy to forget to drink enough water over the festive season and when on holiday! Especially for those of us who live in Broome, when we go to cooler climates we can forget to drink enough water. Make sure you’re getting at least 2 litres a day, preferably more in this super hot weather. If you're staying in Broome, consider some electrolytes on those super sweaty days!
4. Take your pillow with you! You might be on a different mattress, but you can bring your Chiro-recommended contour pillow along for the trip to reduce neck troubles whilst away
